When large formations of the German KSK were disbanded in the 21st century by the German government for being “too right wing,” most of these highly trained special operators sought work around the world as soldiers of fortune. While some cut ties completely and went to work for companies like Harlow Kinetics, most chose to remain in their previous command structure, instead creating their own private military corporation. While publicly disavowed by Germany and what remains of NATO, the Mensk Group has conducted black operations on behalf of German and NATO interests, serving as an expeditionary proxy force for hire. On ABOL, Mensk ultimately serve themselves, but are paid by the German government on earth to assess the viability of other worlds for expansion.
